OBITUARY
Eddie Clarence Reynolds, “Ed,” was born on July 26, 1947, in Macon, Georgia, to the late Ethel Mae Heath and Curtis Reynolds.
Ed departed this life on January 27, 2023
at The Samaritan Center in Voorhees Township, New Jersey.
Ethel relocated her growing family, settling in Brooklyn, New York

where Ed was educated in the New York Cty public school system.It was there that he became childhood friends with actor Ben Vereen.

Ed, the eldest of eight sons

(two of whom predeceased him: Howard Whidbee and Roger Reynolds)

led by example, and in 1965, enlisted in the United States Marine Corps

where he served in Vietnam.

He was honorably discharged on September 9, 1971.

Equipped with skills garnered from his military experience,

Ed forged a forty-year career as a Wall Street financial consultant.

In 1974, he met and dated Margo Adams.

The two raised her three children, Deana, Ralph, and Darlene Johnson,

and later welcomed two daughters, Latoya Reynolds, and Margo Lopez.

Later, he met Donna Ford, and of this union welcomed two sons,

Cassius and Cornelius.

Ed had a great sense of humor

and an infectious smile that would light up any room.

He had an affinity for R&B music, and enjoyed the sounds of

The Temptations, The O’Jays, The Whispers, Diana Ross,

and a host of other musicians.

As a self-taught disc jockey, he would play music

that put most I a dancing frenzy,

making it impossible to stay off the dance floor.

He had a passion for poker, and hosted many games with departed friends,

Joe, Martin, Glenn, and Freddy.

An avid dog lover, he pulled out all the stops when caring for

Joe, Leo, Armani, and Chanel.

He was a strong leader and disciplinarian

who stressed the importance of education.

He often stated:

You can achieve anything you want in this world with a good education.”

His core values resonated with his children, who often made him proud.

He was a loving grandfather who adored his grandchildren,

and he took pride in caring for his grandson, Cassius Jr.

Ed’s presence is no longer with us,

but his spirit will live on in all who had the privilege of knowing him.

To Ed, the son, brother, father, grandfather, uncle cousin, and friend,

May you rest in God’s loving arms.

Daughters Latoya Reynolds and Margo Lopez;

Sons Cassius Reynolds and Cornelius Reynolds;

Stepchildren Deana, Ralph, and Darlene Johnson;

Son in law Elliot Lopez; Daughter-in-law Britany Reynolds;

Grandchildren Tiana McClary, Madison Lambert, James George,

Cassius Reynolds, Jr., Carter Reynolds, Sky Reynolds, and Cori Reynolds;

Great Grandson Aasim McClary;

Brothers Curtis Reynolds, Raymond Reynolds, Gary Reynolds, Calvin Houston, and Rubin Browne;

Sisters-in-law Keela Houston, Deborah Giddens-Reynolds,

and Brenda Reynolds;

And a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
